To Those Who Loved Me Along the Way

Do you know the profound impact you had on my life?

When I was sad, you offered your shoulder.

When I was scared, you grabbed my hand.

When I rejoiced, you celebrated with me.

I don’t know where I would be today without your presence in my life.

I will admit, I’ve struggled hard as I’ve grown.  I’ve dealt with terrible tragedies and painful moments.  I’ve had days where depression cloaked my heart and fear filled my soul.  I’ve wondered what love is and why there is so much brokenness in this world.

But even in this state, you took me in.  You loved me, guided me and most of all, you spent time with me. 

You offered a gift that most deem too pricey.  You put aside your busy schedule and your long to-do list and you gave me the most valuable thing of all.

And in that time, my heart opened. 

I gained the courage to face life’s difficult questions.

I gained the strength to walk in love.

And most of all, I held onto my faith in Christ.

I can’t thank you enough for the love you’ve offered me.  I’m overwhelmed at the blessings of our relationship.

In a world filled with so much brokenness, you stepped into my mess and walked alongside me.  You carried my burdens, you offered your heart and you led me to the greatest Love of all.

Because of you, I am where I am.  I’m confident in my faith and filled with the overflowing love of Christ. 

I hope that one day you will truly know how deeply and powerfully you affected my life.  I hope that you will truly know how grateful and blessed I am because of you.

To those who have loved me along the way, thank you.  I thank God for you every day.  I pray that He will grant you blessings as great as the ones you’ve given me.
