For so many of us, the holidays bring more than peace and gratitude. They can bring stress, overwhelm, loneliness, grief, etc.
Can you relate?
Difficult family dynamics. Overcrowded stores. The hustle of cooking and cleaning and decorating.
From the moment Halloween ends, we’re sucked into a whirlwind of Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities.
And as wonderful as the sights and sounds and smells of the holidays may be, what’s more important is finding grace and peace as we celebrate gratitude and the birth of our Savior.
Don’t be discouraged when among the busyness, you find it hard to enjoy quiet time with God.
But instead, set apart a small time each day to dedicate to prayer and surrender. Even if it’s just 5-10 minutes, when you offer your heart to God each morning, you will find the Holy Spirit etching peace and strength into your heart.
Today I want to share with you 5 powerful prayers to help you connect with the Lord and bring you peace and strength during this holiday season.

A Prayer for Peace
Lord, thank you for Your sufficiency and Your promises throughout Scripture. Thank you for promising your peace. Help me not to be anxious, Lord. Grow in me the practice of thankfulness. Lord, this morning I am thankful for ___. Help me to be confident when I lay my requests before you and to surrender my fears and anxieties to You. Lord, I lay them at the foot of the cross today. Lord, I know that when I renew my mind and fill it with good things, Your peace will be with me. Help me to stand against the temptation to let my mind wander. I commit to taking each thought captive and making it obedient to Christ today. And as I renew my mind, fill me with your peace, Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen.
A Prayer for the Fruits of the Spirit
Lord, Holy Spirit, fill me today. Open my eyes to your presence within me. Guard my heart against the lies of Satan. Continue to help me transform into the daughter/son that You call me to be, filled with the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control. Take my lack of confidence, my self condemnation and my irritability and replace them with these fruits. Fill me with love. Give me a mindset of joy. Help me to remain fully peaceful and patient regardless of circumstance. Give me the strength to be good, to remain faithful. Remind me to be kind and gentle at all times. And fill me with self control. I know that you have the power to transform my heart into your likeness, filled with these fruits. Work in me today and right now to be transformed and help me to stand against each and every lie of Satan. Cast each lie out of my heart and replace it with truth. Amen.
A Prayer for Confidence
Dear Lord, Thank you for the many blessings in my life right now. I ask that you would fill me with a confidence that comes only from knowing my worth in You. You have created me for a purpose and have blessed me with unique gifts and abilities. Help me to recognize those gifts and abilities and to use them for Your good. Strengthen me and help me to know that You are with me every moment. Help me to bring every thought captive and obedient to You and keep me from comparison. Bring me peace as I walk in Your will and align my desires with Yours. I surrender my desires to you. I surrender my heart and my day to You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Patience
Lord, thank you for the many blessings in my life right now. Open my eyes to each gift You have given me. I know my heart can be so quick to become impatient. It can be fear, frustration, exhaustion or so many other things that seem to zap my patience and my energy. But Lord, I know that You provide the strength I need to be patient. Holy Spirit, I ask that You work in me today. Open my heart to Your love and sufficiency in every area of my life. Fill me with the strength and peace I need to be patient today. Develop the fruit of patience in my heart. In Jesus Name, Amen.
